Holly Humberstone

Holly Humberstone has in just a few years established herself as a distinctive songwriter on the international indie-pop scene. Her music is rooted in personal experiences of love distance and connection and is defined by a clear direct style in which emotions are allowed to stand unadorned and exposed. This approach has earned her widespread recognition including a BRIT Rising Star Award and an Ivor Novello nomination. With her second album Cruel World Holly Humberstone presents a more cohesive and mature artistic vision. The record inhabits a darker dreamlike landscape where pain and euphoria exist side by side and where love is portrayed as both grounding and demanding. The music is melodic and accessible yet possesses a depth that gradually reveals itself layer by layer. Live Holly Humberstone is known for performances that emphasize atmosphere intimacy and storytelling.
