Grand Cadaver was formed in Gothenburg and Stockholm in the pandemic year of 2020.

Every member has been a part of the Swedish extreme metal scene since their youth and many were part of shaping the first wave of Death Metal in the late 80&rsquos. Grand Cadaver is all about that classic Swedish HM-2 sound!

The debut EP &rdquoMadness Comes&rdquo was recorded over 3 days in August of 2020 and was released to critical acclaim by Majestic Mountain Records in February 2021 reaching 9th place on the Swedish Album Charts (Physical Copies). Shortly thereafter the band returned to Welfare Sounds studio to record the debut album &ldquoInto the Maw of Death&rdquo which was released on October 29th the same year. Once again to great acclaim and landing a multitude of positive reviews.

&ldquoThe triumph of Into The Maw Of Death is in its ability to take a path into OSDM that doesn&rsquot sound like every other revivalist band there&rsquos a menacing streak to it and an enduring love of death metal of all stripes that shines through&rdquo (Distorted Sound Mag)

When the restrictions of the pandemic were lifted Grand Cadaver made their debut live show in Gothenburg followed by a short tour in support of At The Gates. The final show was at the Gefle Metal Festival Winter Edition.

With the increased activity of the members&rsquo other bands Grand Cadaver had to slow down the pace a tad but entered the studio once again in the fall of 2022. The second album &ldquoDeities of Deathlike Sleep&rdquo was released on August 25 2023.

&ldquoDeities of Deathlike Sleep is their second stab. It&rsquos along the same lines as their first: Swedish death metal done the right way.&rdquo (Decibel Magazine)

&ldquo&lsquoDeities Of Deathlike Sleep&rsquo is another excellent album from Grand Cadaver who do their ode to the old school Swedish death metal sound but add their own twists and turns into the sound ensuring that they don&rsquot sound like yet another Entombed Dismember or Carnage carbon copy. This is ripping old school death metal with a sinister doomy mood to it and definitely a recommended listen.&rdquo (The Razor&rsquos Edge)

&ldquoWith Grand Cadaver you know you&rsquore getting top-tier musicianship top-tier song writing and one of the best vocalists in the game and if they set the bar with Into the Maw of Death they more than exceeded it on Deities of Deathlike Sleep.&rdquo (Metal Epidemic)

After a few one-off recordings – the 7&rdquo single &ldquoSkinless Gods/Terminal Exit&rdquo as well as &ldquoLong Lost Light&rdquo for the &ldquoIn Memory of You/Time will Heal&rdquo compilation album – the band geared up to record another four-track EP. &ldquoThe Rot Beneath&rdquo was recorded in an afternoon – more or less – and was released on August 15 and again noticed with stellar reviews.

&ldquoThis is all kinds of awesome even at only four songs and you will be hard-pressed to find better old school Swedish death metal released this year.&rdquo (Metal Epidemic)

&ldquoIt only takes 16 minutes for them to outrun everyone: Grand Cadaver confidently continues their streak delivering the next essential release for fans of the old school of death metal.&rdquo (Demonic Nights)
