For millennia humans have used rhythm sound and breath to enter altered states of consciousness. Long before modern psychedelic science trance-inducing drums and intentional breathing served as powerful technologies for healing insight and transformation.
Breath directly influences the nervous system. Rhythm does the same. When deep guided breathwork meets live ceremonial drumming the thinking mind softens and awareness moves into the body opening space for release insight and embodied presence.
On November 15th we return for the sixth time to the magical Eric Ericsonhallen on Skeppsholmen. This extraordinary venue with its cathedral-like acoustics and spacious atmosphere has become an essential part of the experience itself. In this extended Breathwork journey we bring these ancient technologies together in a modern trauma-informed ceremonial setting.
What to expect
We begin with a gentle landing offering preparatory and grounding practices that support safety presence and readiness for the journey ahead. No previous experience is required. The space is carefully held and welcoming also for those who are new to breathwork or ceremonial settings.
Somatic Breathwork is a powerful practice using conscious connected breathing patterns to access deeper layers of awareness and release tension stress and stored emotion. By working directly with the breath participants often move beyond the busy mind and into a more embodied state where insight catharsis or deep calm can emerge.
Doors open at 10:00 for a quiet arrival in silence accompanied by music for landing curated by Filip. At 10:30 we begin together with an introduction and grounding practice setting shared intentions and creating the conditions to let go and surrender to the experience.
The breathwork journey combines circular breathing with intentional pauses. Roshi&rsquos steady attuned guidance together with Mahzoon&rsquos live drumming supports a shift into embodied awareness. Each journey is unique. Experiences may be physical emotional or subtle including movement stillness emotional release laughter or a sense of inner clarity. The acoustics of Eric Ericsonhallen amplify every breath and rhythm adding depth and intensity to the process.
We close with a meditative sound bath featuring singing bowls and music by Filip supporting integration and a gentle return. After the session you are warmly invited to stay rest and share the afterglow together in the space.

About the facilitators
Roshi Derakshan is a licensed psychotherapist working with a trauma-informed holistic approach and psychedelic integration. Breathwork is central in her work supporting reconnection with the body and the release of stress trauma and emotional blockages. She has collaborated closely with Nysnö since 2022 and regularly facilitates group breathwork sessions focused on nervous system regulation healing and personal development.
Mahzoon was born and raised in Tehran and has been based in Sweden since 2024. Music was his first gateway into the Sufi tradition. From early childhood he participated in Sufi rituals alongside his father eventually playing the Daf drum in ceremonial settings. Over time he expanded his musical expression by studying additional healing and traditional instruments in Iran as well as rhythm and percussion at an international academy in Russia. For Mahzoon music is both meditation and prayer a tool for inner exploration and spiritual connection. His work weaves together rhythm poetry and lived Sufi practice to support healing of both body and mind.
Filip Bromberg is a licensed psychologist facilitator and ceremonial DJ at Nysnö. He works with preparation and integration of altered states of consciousness and holds the musical and ceremonial frame of the session guiding grounding sound and integration.
This event is organized by Nysnö a psychologist-led organization with deep expertise in psychedelic experiences and altered states of consciousness. Since 2021 Nysnö has facilitated retreat programs and educational initiatives with a strong emphasis on safety preparation integration and community.
